For those of you who don't already know, I received a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship Grant in Taiwan! I have to be in Taiwan on August 1st! That also means I've had A LOT of work to do in getting ready to leave!
So this past weekend was devoted to packing for Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
I officially have WAY too many clothes I want to take. I know that in Taiwan I won't be able to find clothes to fit me, being a fairly overweight 6'2 girl. I don't really fit the Asian mold to say the least. So I have to bring all the clothes I am going to wear for 11 months.

Anyway, all the boring packing stuff aside.
All I have left to do before I go to Taiwan is:
- Get my Visa
- Attend Washington D.C. Training on July 13th
- Sell my car
- Get a loan deferment
- and figure out the whole packing situation
I think I will get it all done in 40 days!!! Wish me luck!

Fun Fact: I have around 15 pairs of shoes I am bringing with me to Taiwan and 10 of them are already packed in the huge red suitcase!!!

Luggage:
- 1 extremely large suitcase (pictured above): It is now completely full, but I still have to fit in my coat/jackets, underwear, pajamas, and workout clothes
- 1 carry-on bag: It will be used to hold my clothes and other things I will need during my 2 day layover in Los Angeles
- 1 computer bag: I of course will be taking that with me to kill time.

THIS IS AWESOME! How did you find out about this job?!?!!
ReplyDeleteI found out about it by searching online. I just graduated with my Master's in TESL, so I was looking for what I wanted to do after I graduated. I found this program last fall and applied for it! Each university has their own Fulbright connection as well! If you're interested I definitely recommend looking into it, I'm the only TESL person in the group going to Kaohsiung, Taiwan! So many people from several different areas of study go!
